Panhard & Levassor X17 SS

1912

The model on display is very characteristic for its ‘avalve’ engine, i.e., with a sleeve valve timing instead of traditional valves, built under licence from the American company Knight. Another special feature of the car with its ‘coupé de ville’ bodywork is the internal heating system using hot water inserted into the engine cooling circuit. In 1965, the brand was taken over by Citroën and finally ceased production in 1967, a century after it was founded.
