Lancia Aprilia

1948

Vincenzo Lancia, true to his innovative intuition, believed that the public was ready for a new creation, so he gave a few, precise directives: a light, aerodynamic, quick, and manoeuvrable car with an engine displacement between the Augusta’s 1200 and 1500 cc. A few months later, a lightweight and powerful 4-cylinder narrow V-shaped engine with an aluminium monobloc and cast-iron liners was created. The innovative line of the car was the result of studies carried out in the aerodynamic research laboratory of the Polytechnic University of Turin.
