The Ferrari 500 F2, manufactured in 1951, was the brainchild of Enzo Ferrari who decided to commit himself to the F2 (less expensive and easier to manage than the F1). Perhaps, no other Ferrari achieved the same level of success, and no other car ever had such simple mechanics: a chassis similar to that of the 375 type (two tubular longitudinal side members and crossbars, independent front wheels, rear De Dion axle, 4-speed gearbox with differential) with a dual ignition engine fed by two double-body carburettors
