125 times FIAT

15/11/2024 –  04/05/2025

MAUTO – Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile recounts the 125th anniversary of the Turin factory with an exhibition that covers more than a century of experimentation.

On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the founding of FIAT, MAUTO – Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile presents the exhibition 125 VOLTE FIAT that traces the long and compelling history, unique in the industrial context of the 20th century, of the Turin car factory. The exhibition project, curated by Giuliano Sergio and realised in collaboration with Centro Storico FIAT and Heritage HUB, can be visited from 15 November 2024 to 4 May in the Museum’s ground floor spaces.

Founded in 1899, the Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino was able to seize the opportunities of the industrial revolution and Italian national unity to establish itself as the main private interpreter of the country’s modernisation in the last century. Drawing on the great visual heritage produced or inspired by FIAT, the exhibition retraces the bond that united the Turin-based car company to the cultural, industrial and economic development of Italy and recounts the model of modernity imagined, designed and promoted by a company that influenced a large part of Italy’s history through its enterprise.

Podcast

AYRTON SENNA FOREVER is also the title of the new podcast created by CHORA MEDIA for the National Automobile Museum. Three episodes intended as an accompanying tool for an emotional journey through the homonymous exhibition.

Thirty years after Ayrton Senna’s death, thanks to an immersive sound narrative, we will retrace together the great driver’s career, from his beginnings with karts in Brazil to his great successes in Formula One. We will follow him on circuits around the world where he clashed with the great champions of the time, from Alain Prost to Nigel Mansell, between resounding victories and inevitable defeats. Thanks to the testimonies of Carlo Cavicchi, journalist and author of the book Senna vero and Angelo Orsi, photographer and great friend of Senna, accompanied by the narrative voice of Emanuele Ruzza, we will get to know Ayrton’s personality and character up close, while driver Riccardo Patrese will tell us, as a protagonist, about the world of Formula One in those years.

A  calendar of meetings that alternates between conversations, editorial presentations, projections, musical and performance events: stories that embrace art, design, literature and current affairs; visual explorations ranging from auteur films to artist videos and documentaries; sound proposals that move between musical genres, with authors and performers, ensembles and soloists.
